Orange Romania

Roaming

for you

When travelling abroad, don’t forget your passport and your Orange phone.
The Roaming service enables you to communicate using your own Orange number, even when you are outside Romania, in the countries where Orange has concluded Roaming agreements.

Until now, Orange Romania has concluded Roaming agreements with more than 300 operators in over 150 countries and with 2 satellite mobile telephony operators.

how does it work

At least one day before leaving the country, call the short number 450 (charged as mobile to mobile call, within Orange network) and your service will be activated for the desired period of time.
A payment in advance may be required, depending on your lifetime within the network and on the value of your bills.

While abroad, you can use your mobile phone within the coverage area of the Roaming partners' networks. The service depends on the technical quality of the respective network.

If you have activated the Roaming service and you are near the frontier we recommend that you manually switch your phone on Orange or turn it off to avoid switching away from Orange and on a network from the other country, because of the signal fluctuations.

When you make a Roaming call:

  • to a local phone number, dial the phone number in the national format
  • to a phone number in Romania or anywhere in the world (excepting the visited country) dial the phone number in the international format

When you receive a Roaming call:

  • from Romania, the caller dials your Orange number in the national format
  • from anywhere else in the world (including calls received from the visited country), the caller dials your Orange number in the international format

If you are an Orange subscriber, the following services are available while roaming:

In most foreign partner networks, you can retrieve your Voice Mail messages and access the Customer Service by calling the corresponding short numbers (555 and 411 or 408), as in Romania. Check the list of the partner networks that allow calling the short numbers.

When you are abroad, with Roaming *121#, you can listen to your Voice Mail or you can access Customer Service at special tariffs. For more details, click here »

While you are abroad, you can stay connected to the internet, wap or your office network and you can send messages with images, sounds and texts from your Orange phone. Find out more about the mobile data services available in roaming.

how much does it cost?

  • The activation of the service is free of charge.
  • Text messages received are free of charge.
  • The Roaming calls are charged per minute.
  • Both outgoing and incoming calls are charged.
  • Your roaming calls are charged according to Orange Travel tariffs.

If you have a Personal service plan with minutes or credit included, your roaming calls are charged separately, besides the inclusive minutes/credit.

Roaming calls and data traffic are charged by Orange using information received from the operator whose network your mobile was registered with. The time taken to receive this data may vary among operators.

For this reason, it´s possible for the information on roaming calls presented by Cronos and included in the bill issued while roaming and immediately after your return to Romania to be incomplete.
